Río Celeste waterfalls,volcano and sloths

Also, because this is one of the most popular rivers in Costa Rica and is known around the world for its particular color, a legend tells that after God was done painting the sky, he washed the brushes in the river that’s why his color and that’s why now receive the name of Rio Celeste.  

This peculiar color is given by a chemical reaction that reflects the sunlight through the water, and occurs during the joining of two streams that give birth to the river, this place is known as the “Teñideros”. It’s awesome for nature and hiking lovers.

Talking about location, it’s located around Tenorio volcano, 1.30 hrs. from Liberia city.
